Do you run any exchange servers? If so, how are you updating the outlook calenders, one at a time, or on the mailboxes?

Not anymore thank God. I was scarred for life by Exchange 5.5 on NT4 and never looked back. I'm not quite sure what you're looking for, but it must be a popular topic. I was trying to Google up the patch for Windows Server 2K3 so I didn't have to run Windows Update (windows installer update first, then reboot screw that i'm in a hurry here) and just about every hit was for Exchange (not quite what I was looking for).

I'm afraid about the best I can do is point you here. Good luck with that one.

I use WSUS so the servers and pc's are patched. I ran the exchange tool on the mailboxes on Wednesday, but a few failed. I only have 100 users so it's not so bad if I have to go them a run the outlook update. I was just curious what you had done as I respect your knowedge in computers.

Oh yea, I eventually found it. I just had to dig a little deeper that I expected.

Here's a question for you... IIRC, WinXP Clients (joined to a domain) get their time from the DC. If the DC is patched, but the client isn't, will the client still display the correct time?

nope, I think that's why there is a patch for both. If the client has the automatically update for DST, the server time will be implemented, but the client time will adjust back to the wrong time.
I asssist 15 school districts as well as the airport here and use WSUS at all sites. Do you use it?

I was just curius about the few clients I may run across that didn't get the patch via automatic update. I imagine I'll be busy on Monday. 8)

The short answer, not yet.

Most of my customers are 5-10 user small businesses. WSUS might be a little overkill for them or at least their budget (my labor to set it up).

My biggest (and favorite) customer has 9 servers and around 50 clients. It's an all IBM shop (health care) with a generous checkbook. We are planning on implementing WSUS at that site. In fact, they've got a dedicated server speced to order soon. I've just recently finished setting them up with group policy. It's working out so well I've almost worked myself out of a job. Next on the agenda is a second DC, dedicated file server, and then WSUS. It should all be in by this summer. I do have WSUS at home for training purposes though.

The biggest thing with WSUS is disk space, make sure you have around 20 gig free space. And don't put it on the OS drive. The setup in ADUC policies only takes a few minutes, while the initial download of all the updates takes hours and the initial appoval of those updates takes 30 min or more.
A second DC is always a good idea, if they can afford it, for AD redundicy. That way you can split up the roles of the servers and have two GC's in the domain.
