Venus as JB said, Mercury is barely visible close to the horizon, almost impossible to view with the naked eye and for very short periods due to its proximity to the sun.
Venus JB?
or the spacestation?
Reason I ask is that my buddy has been talking of the spacestation in the western sky for a year now and I have never bothered to check.
Pretty big and too bright in my opinion for a space station, but I don't know.
PH.
Did the hijack thing again! sorry.
I'll find out on my own.
Thx JB,
Couldn't access through quote to answer that, it keeps telling me that I am not signed in, but only with yours. Others work fine.
A setting on your part?
Thx, PH.
I have seen the International Space Station fly over on several occasions.
It is very cool! It appears as a bright star and moves rather quickly from west to east. You have to know in advance when and where to look as it is only visible for a minute or two.
There is a web site that you can enter your zipcode to and it will tell you when and where to look for the ISS and several other visible satellites. Unfortunatly I don't remember what the name.
I once saw the ISS with the space shuttle in hot pursuit, that was sweet.
