I was in Harbor Freight the other day and got side tracked. I decided to look for something that had the words: "Made in the U.S.A". After much time searching, I found something. Bond-o is made in the USA :)

So is their 100' of black 3/8" air hose. It's made by goodyear, in the USA. You'd be harder pressed to find something made in the USA at Wal Mart than HF.

Well some of it's junk and some of it's O.K., but it's all cheap, and it's a hardware store and I'm in there all the time...beats hanging around some outlet mall!...

Re: Harbor Freight

My experience is that some of it is junk, some ok, and some really good for the money.

I got a 1/2" air impact wrench for like 60 bucks. It got 4.5 out of 5 stars with like 60 reviews. The thing is incredible. One guy said he took one apart, and then took a name brand one apart and found the same parts. Only the name plate was different, even the colors were the same.

I bought a cutting torch at about 1/4 price. The torch is great. The 15' of hose that came with it weatherchecked in about a week.

You can buy 3 step drills for 1/2 the price of one anywhere else. If you're blowing holes in fiberglass, why fuzz up the cutting edge on a good one?

I bought one of those plasticty oragne hoses for my aircompressor. For 3 years it's been my garage nemisis. Only time the hose is nice to me is 90 degrees and full sun. Forget about winter. If it's coiled up and it's 32 degrees, it will pull my impact wrench back.

I've got one of those orange coiled air hoses and it's O.K., but coils tend to tangle up some.

Re: Harbor Freight

thats the thing, it's not a Coiled hose like you would think..
If it's warm and you coil up your host to put it away, then when it gets cold. it's like a giant coil.

I've tried to give it to my neighbor and my cousin.. They don't even want it in their garbage cans.

I got mine elsewhere, but I have that same evil hose. I've actually got it somewhat figured out, but I can't trust anybody else to put it away without damaging something else so I always have to do it even if the boys just need air in a tire . . .

Harbor Freight is like cheap women and cheap whiskey, sometimes it matters and sometimes it don't!

For 10 years I've abused a $90 HF 10 inch sliding compound miter saw, it works so well I sold my 12 inch Bosch. On the other hand I burned up one of their air compressors in 15 minutes. They're pretty good to deal with on returns though. A lot of their stuff appears awfully similar to some of the Sears stuff.

When your old and sex is just a pleasant memory then Harbor Freight is the place to go. If they ever offer a senior citizen discount they'll go broke!

I don't care if it is has the goodyear name on it, it is not made in the USA, I have gone through so many of those hoses, I was filling a tire last night and had my last one blow bigtime, I will never buy another one of those hoses again! They crack, check and get very brittle very quick!

I bought several of those trailers they are sturdy and also tilt making them ideal for ATVs. Another great deal is the 80amp inverter welder with 100% duty cycle. The only thing that I was ever disappointed with is their electric chainsaw. Yup,I am a senior citizen that gets excited going there.
