hard start cold

new to mercs i installed new impellor last night , my question is on my throttle control the button to engage fast idle in neautral is broken does the fast idle also advance the timing , once warmed up it runs fine i tried to manually work the throttle at the carbs but still a finicky to start.thanks

Yes the throttle lever does operate the timing base also. Asidefrom needing to hit the enrichner, it is also important that the timing is advanced as well as the throttle for cold starts. I know you already know this, but it's time to get the control box fixed or replaced.

ya kind of thanksfigured that so went out today and found one complete with cables and harness,
