Hey guys. Over the past few trips my throttle only button on my quicksilver box has became nearly impossible to press in. Kind of inconvenient because I use it to start it sometimes. Any suggestions on how to fix that? I've got a hotfoot sitting in my garage maybe I just need to put that in there.... Cable is just a little short is what I'm worried about with that..... But back on topic. Any tips on how to make the button easier to press again?

Tried some pb and let it soak for a bit but it seemed to act the same way. Not quite sure how "fun" it is to tear into that box. Ill do powerheads all day. But small parts and me aren't friends. Lol.

Move the lever back and forth as you push the button. BTDT. Removing it from the boat to disassemble is a serious PIA. BTDT too. iboats sells Mercury/Quicksilver Commander 2000s (that's a 3000) for about $250 with electrical harness, you existing mechanical cables fit, and your problems disappear. Additionally, the fast idle is a convenient lever on the top rear of the control. Nice and simple, nice and reliable. BTDT three.

I've tried the wiggling it back and forth before engaging the button, doesn't seem to help much. Basically have to hit it with something until it pops in.... The hotfoot will just bypass that whole thing, and will likely be the route I go.... for a $22.00 cable vs a 250$ box, Was just thinking maybe it was a simple fix...

May be. I just didn't know how to make it simple and did put a lot of thought and attempts into the experiment.
