Hello folks...new member here. I did a search and didn't find any info on this problem.
A couple of weeks ago, took the boat out and engine started fine. This past weekend, took it out and had the problems.
Engine turned over twice and then nothing. When I mean nothing, I mean the starter would not even activate. The only response between the ignition switch and the engine was the clicking of the electronic choke whenever I pushed the key in as if I was going to choke it.
After a couple of tries, the engine magically turned over strongly and off we went. This happened three more times while we were out on the water.
Checked all battery and starter connections for corrosion when I got home...all were clean as a whistle. Cranking battery is less than 1 year old and was fully charged the day before via an on-board trickle charger. Hooked the charger back up and it showed full charge after only about 5 minutes, so the battery was indeed fully charged. I got the engine to turnover once more while in the driveway at the house, but that was it...now I can't get it to turnover at all.
Where would you guys start...the ignition switch? The solenoid? The starter itself?
Any help would be appreciated!
