A tank full of gas in the water is bouyant.

So if the extra weight did cause by Bass Buggy to sit lower in back....... buoyancy of tank would counter this. Correct???

does it have a model number on it by chance???
Also what boat is it on if i may ask.... INCA needed a model/part number to check for availability.... needless to say though very capable and friendly they generally do not deal directly with the public, hence requested a model/part number. The other idea I am running with while not so elegant is to put an aluminum tray between two cross members as a support for a belly tank.... not as elegant... but should the initial idea fail to come to fruition still feasible.

Ok hope this helps. Not sure on the model number if it's F02549 or F02349 or if it FO or F0. Have a look. I wasn't able to measure how deep the tank is. Couldn't get a tape measure in there.

ok, after roundy roundy.... i got a price of $450.00 for the tank.... while i was gasping for air... and kicking myself for not picking up the tank on ebay for so little.... the guy suggested having a local aluminum welder make one for me...said it would likely cost less and fit perfectly.
So is there a reason I shouldnt do this?

I don't know but don't fuel tanks on boat have to be coastguard approved ?

If they do, it means the tank has to meet their standards. Not like you have to get a coastie to stamp it. ;)

Once they buy the materials, TIG weld and pressure test I doubt you would save anything. You could looking into Automotive Fuel cells on Ebay. I have found 20 gallon cells for under $200. Then it all depends on the dimensions.
