Well I am sad to say that my pride and joy is being hauled home on Friday.I will have a last beer of the season aboard on Thursday.Man this season went fast and depression is setting in already. No more overnights until next year.Thank God I will have my little Mako still in the water to take a ride on and grab a last few fish of the season or I would go crazy. It was a great season despite almost no 90 degree days here on Long Island.Just had to tell somebody guys!!!!Thanks for listening.Charlie

I hauled out September 15th. Now I trailer it every weekend to a good ramp about 20 minutes away. My water drops so I have to haul it out. I will continue to fish until it just gets too darn cold to want to do it anymore...<br /><br />I feel your pain...

Its the one nice thing about not actually owning a boat yet... No withdrawl symptoms...<br /><br />While I can't truly feel your 'pain...' I'll join you next year...<br /><br />

Try spending some $$ on it while it is out. Makes me feel better!

Rain qualifies us to spend 2 times the planned amount of $$. I think its called punitive damages. Got a new GPS this time.

Heard on the hydrofones:<br /><br />"They're hauling out fella's! Let's go for it and breed like crazy until they come back next year!"

Re: Hauling out Friday....depressing

I was going to go for the last time last weekend, on the Mactaquac Head Pond (Fredericton NB), but to my chagrin, when I got there the water in the reservoir was 15 to 20 feet below normal. They had been generating power at the dam. It was so low that the ramp was completely dry and there was about 2 to 3 feet of water left in the marina. (Some guy's are stranded there until the water comes back up and they are not happy!). So I did not risk it, I have bought my supplied for winterinzing and will do so next weekend. Bummer! (Dave on the Saint John River, what do you pilot?)

I hauled my baby out on Oct 1st and now she is shrink wrapped and up on stands in my back yard . Talk about withdrawal. This was my first season with my toy and now I am dreaming about being on the boat .

I am waiting a few more weeks yet. I went down to the marina a few days ago and turned on the engine compartment heater, switched the cabin unit over to "heat only" just to make sure she would be safe on those cold nights. I hate this time of year also, but I swear, sometime in the next week or two the sun will be out and it will hit 70 and I will get that last cruise of the season......I have to.

Hi Bert 1<br /><br />We are almost neighbours :) <br /><br />Right now i have a couple of Zodiacs here, a 16 footer with a 40 hp Mariner, steering consul, etc and a 14 footer with a 30 hp tiller Mariner.<br /><br />Looking around for a sailboat.......again!<br /><br />The water here at Hampstead Wharf was very high two weeks ago and then almost overnite it droped 5 feet, we blame the lack of rain and the hydro dams upriver, oh well it'll be plenty high in the spring :D
