Re: Hauling out Friday....depressing
Yes Stllfishing , my baby is shrinkwrapped , cost me $200.00 although my brother is paying me back for it as he wants to store his hot little sports car in my unheated garage . I live in the north of Canada , where we get up to 4 or more feet of snow over winter . The place I deal with does a wood framework and shrink wraps over it so the snow rolls off the boat . I have seen more than one boat with damage from an accumulation of snow which is very heavy especially when it is wet.The wrapping has 2 air vents , similiar to a roof vent so air circulates over winter. You would be amazed how many boats I see exposed to the elements , full of snow and rain .Yes Aldo , I am very devoted to my boat . While she was at the marina this summer , I found that the top and bow cover leaked in a bit of rain , so I put the travel cover on the boat over the tops . It was not easy and I know the guys thought I was nuts . It was like putting *****hose on a boat but my toy was dry inside . When I brought my baby home , I cleaned her inside , hauled out everything I could and treated every thing left inside . Then I spent 2 days washing and waxing the hull with teflon wax and this was after I pressure washed the hull and had the place I deal with do the spots I could not get at .You could read a book in the shine on my hull.I had both motors winterized and while my toy was at the dealers I had her measured for a new bow cover as well as a custom mooring cover , both of which I will have made over winter.I hope to do something to my boat each year even though she is in excellent shape for a 1987 and I intend to have her like new in a few years. I know I am a bit nuts but like I say I am CRAZY about boats .
