Re: Havasu boating Boycott
Sorry clearwakeDan dood for jacking your thread! Just a couple last questions for QC.
So you can leave your vehicle/trailer at the launch ramp lot overnight & safely? Then head to one of the shores 105 campsites via boat. Are these sites spread out in clusters or all in one bunch? We were thinking the Havasu ramp by London Bridge. Have you left from that launch or marina?
Directions: These camp sites are only accessible by watercraft. Launch Ramps Available: Take-Off Point and Havasu Springs Resort, near Parker Dam off Highway 95, on the south end of the lake; Cattail Cove State Park, nine miles south of Lake Havasu City; near the London Bridge, at Windsor Beach State Park and other marinas and campgrounds in Lake Havasu City.

Oh yeah. I said "primitive" as you can go up into Topock Gorge and camp with no facilities whatsoever. But the BLM maintains 105 sites on the AZ shore and a few on a Little Island (I have GPS coordinates if anybody wants). I have camped there three years in a row. This year (3/21) we are borrowing a Coach and letting Mom come along, so we are staying at Park Moabi which is up on the river north of the Gorge. Take a look here: BLM Site Great campsites, boat accesible only, good heads, benches, sorta some shade and barbeques. First come, first served. No reservations.
