Have a chrysler 105 not spark and no power to the coils on cyl 1 & 2/flywheel removal

Not sure on the year of the motor but it has a Magnapower II CD Ignition on it. The model # on the plate inside the motor is 1059HF serial # 12850. I have all new tested working coil packs and i get spark on packs 3 and 4 but not on 1 & 2 the top 2 coil packs. I have tested there is no voltage going to either of those coil packs and I do not know what to do. Im guessing ill have to remove the flywheel any suggestions on how to do that? Please help is there something im missing where it would be easy to get power to the packs without taking off the flywheel?? ive traced the red wire with the black stripe and the brown wire are not getting the voltage they need.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news BUT: The Magna-Power II system was the most trouble prone ignition Chrysler ever made. They failed regularly and Chrysler made available a retro-fit kit. As far as I know, there is no aftermarket replacement modules. You could try CDI and see if they have one.

However, parts for the retro-fit kit are difficult to find and you don't get as good performance.

ALL hope is not lost though! You can easily convert the engine to a later Prestolite ignition as long as you get all components including flywheel, trigger, stator, CD boxes, and coils. Try to find one off blown junker.

Removing the flywheel requires a strong puller. Many here on the forum use a harmonic balancer puller with three bolts holding it to the flywheel. A three jaw gear puller is simply not strong enough so don't even bother trying.

As Frank says CDI has discontinued the CD module. It was a R/R part. Try FranzMarine.com. He has offered me used CD modules for the MAG II ign. because I am an old MAG II customer of him. I know he has made a test powerhead for MAG II parts.
I have already filled up my stock of parts for my two Chryslers with MAG II. One 65Hp 1977 and one 55 Hp 1977.

What does this module look like? Is it mounted underneath the flywheel or somewhere else on the motor? Anybody got a picture of the one I need? I do have a 55hp chrysler I robbed of carbs and coilpacks with the same magnapower ignition system on it. Is there something else I could rob off this extra motor I have?

Yes, there you have spareparts. The ign.system from the 55Hp fits to the 105Hp. The only different are that the 105Hp has 4 ign.coils and 4 triggers. The 55Hp has 2 of each.
The CD module is under the flywheel. It is stamped CD and has five terminals T1, T4, MB, MW and TAC.

So tell me this... what do I have to go through to make these 2 motors come together to get my 105 to run? I need the 2 triggers off the 55 and swap out the bad ones off the 105? Are the triggers interchangeable? Im going to do some work on the boat tonight.

my son had a 120 Magna-Power II with the 'same' issue...but it was 3 & 4 that would play up, project motor on a stand while the project boat was fixed up...took a little while
after getting help here from Frank and Co...plus a couple of locals...decided to eventually change the 2 'bad' triggers with other 2nd hand 'new' ones...
bingo.. good spark on all four and it ran well on the little skiboat for awhile until the head/exhaust gasket blew...
dunno whether the triggers off your 55 will fit.. pull the flywheel with the puller Frank described

Soooo... this might be a dumb question.. but what do I have to do to keep the flywheel from moving so I can loosen the nut holding it on?
