Re: Have opinions on the AMI Advanced Cat inflatable?
Unfortunately RonaldJ is right

That's one of the boats I was researching for my upgrade. Went so far as traveling up to Massachussetts to see one in a dealers shop. They are heavier than you would expect for an inflatable. The dealer said they really aren't made to be taken down daily.. maybe more like stored away and set up for prolonged use then put away again. He said there would be performance gains because of the hulls but surprisingly not a lot of extra speed... they would just be better at keeping speed in less than ideal situations like chop and waves. When all was said and done, the price differential (expensive) the convenience loss (much more set up time and weight)... seemed to outweigh the performance and durability (he said they were a lot tougher and harder to "hurt" due to the sponsons). I still watch the videos from time to time. The company went under and for a while you could find new old stock online... there was even a "court ordered" liquidation sale but the prices were good compared only to the original price. If you look around online, Saturn had something that looked like a "true copy" not like the mini-cats they have now. They (Saturn) stopped selling them really quickly, so I assumed AMI had issue with the likeness, lol. I was very tempted to get one and by the time I went to do the research they were sold out, never to return again

a fact which saddens me because I would seriously have considered that one over my current Saturn.... Any Saturn mgmt types readin??? lol.
