First post!!! And let me say I love this site, so much knowledge here :D
I am coming from my beloved Seahawk 500 which lasted me the last 10 years(many patches is what I call my boat)... to what I am thinking will be the Mariner 4. Now after doing some research the Seahawk 500 is listed as 129''x55''. Problem is this... My seahawk is only 120''x 49''x12'' in middle/rear and 19'' high for the bow. The ID is 78''x25''. Thats a pretty big number for Intex to be off.

What i want is a bit bigger boat so need to know is what is the REAL size difference between the 2?

What is the actual/real member measured OD, ID and Height of the new Mariner 4?

Are all the tubes the same size or is the bow a bit taller?

I really don't want to order the Mariner 4 off Amazon only to have it be the same size I already have.
Thank you to all that reply!!

Hey bud.... Mariner 4 is a nice boat for the price... The listed measurements are a tad larger than your current boat. I've been looking for a good reason to pump mine up after sitting for a couple months and this afternoon after work I'll try to get you real life measurements. Oh btw.. The bow is no different

Intex has divided their largest boat and their most feature riched boat into 2 different ones. The excursion 5 and mariner 4. I own the excursion 5 ( because of the size) and the ID is 101.5 x 36.5. Now this is measured from the inner lining and not the floor. If space is your main objective, excursion is great. I hqve seen people sit on the sides of the mariner 4 and in that regards you save center space. You cant really do that on excursion.

Hi Rakumi,
I did look at the excursion and thought it might fit my bill but from what I have read it is not as beefy as the mariner. I like the rotational oar locks on the mariner as well, so hard to find them on decent river rafts.

Hey 300, you doing river rafting? I guess different boats are better for different things. Heavy rivers, i would suggest the mariner 4. If calm waters and space is more important, excursion 5. I use mine in salt water near my local marina. I purchased a motor (electric) so i plan on being on the outskirts of the marina this spring. The heavy waves really only come from fast boats passing by where i am at.

I do a mix of both lake and river, a lot of white water in professional rafts and a bit in the 500. For the lake I want a motor so
after doing more research for "the best bang for buck" electric motor i am sure i will grab one shortly after the boat purchase.

I went for a minnkota 30lb because i heard stories of if you keep it clean, you can use it in saltwater. For $100, i will see how it manages. Now i am just worried that my battery has been sitting since like late september, early november or so.

Ya batteries are a pain but here at Canadiantire they come with lifetime warranties for just that purpose.

I was thinking of the Minnkota Endura Max 55lb, they say it will last up to 5 times as long per charge as the older versions and it has a battery meter on it.

I hear the maxx will last longer as well but it all depends on your purpose and how long you will need to run on a constant pace. I know i should not be going long distances but if you need the power and efficiency, go for it.

I think the longer runtime as something to do with the new Variable Speed Control.... just a hunch :)

Yeah.... I have the endura 30 and I kick myself in the *** for not getting a 45 or so with a digital maximizer! Not that the 30 is bad but for another $100 I could have gotten so much more!

I would have opted for a higher one but this is a trial to see how a freshwater motor will hold up in saltwater and i did not want to do that with a more expensive one. I hear many people say their freshwater held up for years in saltwater with some care. I wash my boat every use anyway so i can do the same with my motor.

I hope you are able to find the inside dimensions you are seeking soon. I just cannot wait for the warmer weather.

Hey guys I got the measurements for him.... And OMG I couldn't agree more about the weather.... Ice... Ice.... And more ice.... All of my lakes and rivers are frozen... If not I'd probably be dumb enough to try and go out in 25?!

Hello All!!!
Thanks to mrdrh99 for the asist.
Just ordered the M4 and the Seamax 80D 500L/min pump :D
Next is the motor(Endura Max 55) and battery.... speaking of batteries, I noticed the Power center from Minn Kota fits group 24- and 27-size batteries. Is size 29 a better battery? does it have more capacity or are these just numbers?

It's larger, heavier, but yes more capacity.... I have a 27 with 109ah and still have at least half power at the end of the day!

Hey mrdrh99, what were the inner dimensions of the M4? I am curious.
