Re: He y QC !

Thanks. Yeah, bass fishing is the area I have the absolute least experience . . . There are some tournaments out here for sure, just never done 'dat deal. Pretty funny, stick a piece of pork on your Jig and hope it looks like a frog . . . Jig and a Pig

This comes down to word usage of course, and in bass fishing I guess a jig would be used with quick bumps etc. but never trolled? In the local Saltwater language, we troll these "Feather Jigs" like I said, to find the schools. We even call that first fish the "Jig Fish" and nobody really wants to get stuck working that fish as they are on much heavier gear and the line is usually out a ways before you get the boat stopped. The way I have been taught is that you want to crank that puppy in as fast as possible and the rest of the school should follow it up to the chum you're now throwin' (Sardines or Anchovies). Everybody wants the fish off the bait with the big surface boils . . .

Now we're gonna get moved to Fishing, but JB'll have a hard time deciding Fresh or Salt :p :p :D

Here in the Midwest Jigs are fished usually stationary, bouncing the bait off the bottom. The jig would sometimes be tipped with a minnow.

I am as uneducated about saltwater fishing so I never knew jigging to be other than what I'm familiar with.

And ya, I thought about it getting moved too! :D
