Head gasket follow-up

I replaced my head gaskets this spring. I have heard you should re-check the torque on the head bolts after 10-20 hrs of use. I'm just over 10 hrs.

Should I check the torque on the bolts cold, or let the engines warm up 1st?

I have twin '89 Evinrude 120 loopers. Thanks.

Do it cold. Looen a head bolt (one at a time) a couple of turns, then retorque it. Follow torque sequence.

Agreed that a re-torque is a good idea. I do not loosen them though.
