Head Gaskets

I am changing my head gaskets and water jackets and just wanted to know if you use any type of gasket seal on the head gasket. I have heard yes and no just need someones thoughts. If so what kind is good.I have a Johnson GT 150 Thanks.

Make sure mating surfaces are clean and level. No sealer needed.
