Heart Attack

Well, it has been a rough time lately. I guess I was pushing too hard and blaming the chest pains on all the non-stop work.

Drove to the VA Hospital (IN VT yes I drove myself)to get checked over and ended up getting checked in. Turns out I had a handful of heart attacks and was scheduled for emergency surgury the folloing day in Boston.

I chose the lesser route and got Stents installed and declined the bypass surgury. I am bruised from the surgery, I ache from all the bloodwork and hookups..... but I am here.

I am somewhat quieter and had time to think but I am here.

Thanks to God and Family.

Really glad to hear you are doing better after treatment. Must have been something to go in for a checkup and end up admitted. Good luck and best wishes.

Glad to hear that you're doing fine Bob, what were your reasons for not going the surgical route?

Re: Heart Attack

Glad you are OK.

My dad just survived his second heart attack last week. It is amazing what medcial technology can do now. He had two stents put in and walked out a few days later not too much worse for the wear.

They were out of town on vacation and i just drove a little over 500 miles yesterday bringing home their truck and trailer.

:eek::eek: Wow Bob!!! Glad to hear you are okay, just take it easy (easier said than done!) and get well soon!

Now I kinda hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I know you copied me the last time with the "health issue" so don't be offended if I try not to copy you this time!! ;)

Re: Heart Attack

Good morning.

Thank you for all the kind words and support.

What a refreshing feeling to wake up at home.... I do miss the cute nurses but they are no substitute for my wife. Wow... what a week from hell. My step Dad was admitted hours before me on the same day in Florida. He is down to a 15% capacity and on this coming Tuesday they are going to replace his pacemaker/defib unit in his chest. Keep him in your prayers.... he is in Winter Haven, FL.

I tried to "hide" my problems from my Mom due to that situation..... Mom did not need the added stress.

I was (past tense) scheduled to fly to FL this week for a surprise party for the parents but we cancelled that. Following 2 hours of fierce phone battle my wife got US Airways to agree to refund the money but only as a credit). As per my wife US Airways customer survice sucks and she was treated like crap.

I always wondered when I would stop being the tough guy and listen to the Doctor's advice...... found out that is now.

Keep smiling :) Thanks again.

Re: Heart Attack

Thak God you're still with us, Bob. We live abt 2.5 hours from Winter Haven, but can tell you, they have some excellent docs and hospitals in the area. We know that because that is where Carol had to go for her surgery.
