1995 175 evinrude intruder. I've been down a few hundred rpm since early june. 5500-5700 range is where the boat had been running prior to new vro install and air idle screws being adjusted. Now at WOT i'm around 5200. I don't know if its the water being hotter or a problem with my motor. Motor sounds flat up on top end. I've done a plug check on it and all the starboard side plugs have a nice light tan to them and seem to be burning perfect. Port side is a different story. #2 looks good on the tip and the top part of the insulator, but down inside of the insulater there is a black dark spot. #4 looks like it might be burning just a tad lean.... lighter tan than the other plugs. #6 looks almost black all the way to the top of the insulator. One little section of the insulator is not completely black, not wet, just black. Compression readings on the port side are #2 104 #4 101 #6 95. I did a decarb a few weeks ago and charged my battery, #6 came up to 100 on my gauge after that. These are cold readings. Warm they're all 95 to 100. So basically i can't determine if the port side is getting too hot or i'm getting a small amount of water intrusion into that side. I was about to go through all of the recirculate check valves and install a new manifolfd gasket, maybe do a light test with the leaf valves. Carbs have been gone through time and time again. Old guage and its a looper so those compression readings are typical. Puzzling deal.
