Like I could tell Ted from the picture they were 6 x 6 and not 4 x 4 or 8 x 8? Killin' me Ted.......but isn't what you're planning on doing basically what I was suggesting?

Mark

Absolutely, we are on the same page . . . I wanted to share the details of my setup for the benefit of any additional comments.

SUCCESS !!!

Today, I was able to lift the boat up off the blocks and set it down on another set of blocks, both bow and stern . . .

Here are a few photos of the day.

New stack of blocks just in front of the stern supporting blocks

Now it was a matter of setting the extra boat stands in place, chain them together and do the lifting . . . Once the boat was up about 1/2", I could remove the initial set of blocks and lower the boat back down onto the new set of blocks.

It was now easy access to the unpainted area at the stern.

Then I did the same sort of thing at the bow, except this set of blocks went behind the initial set of blocks

This lift did not require quite as much clearance . . . Probably had to raise the boat only about 1/4" . . . then set it back down on the new stack of blocks and exposed the forward area for painting.

So, now those areas have the barrier coat on them and next week, I will finish the 2 areas off with the anti-fouling paint.

BTW - I used Interprotect 2000 for the barrier coat and ePaint EP-2000 (white) for the anti-fouling.

Thanks, everyone who commented and shared their advice. this worked out OK . . . Launch day is May 16th, weather permitting . . . :thumb:

Nice! Looks like you've done some great work to that boat.

In the case of safety... extreme overkill fits PERFECT! ... good deal

Yes, lots over overkill makes for easily lifting. Thank goodness for the chines on powerboats, else lifting them off of blocks would be a more difficult process.

I have used the EP-2000 paint for about 8 years now and it does a great job, a nice slick surface and no marine growth throughout the season. The only bad thing . . . it is getting pricey

Quick Update:

I have the boat all barrier coated and anti-fouling painted. . .

The extra set of stands makes it fairly easy and safer.

Using the white anti-fouling pretty much makes it look like it has not paint at all. See ????

You have to get fairly close to see the paint line and different texture . . .

I am still taking care of a few loose ends prior to launching, which is planned for Sunday (May 26th) . . .

I think that I will shlep some gasoline to the boat on Saturday, as it is about $1.00/gallon more on the water.

I may look into painting my bottom white...Looks great and MUCH easier than removing the black on it now... I'd suggest having your transporter meet you at the gas station with it and fill it up then.
