Just wanted to say hello and what an awesome site this is. I found this site while looking up information and ideas for my 1968 Starcraft rebuild. I dont know much about her but lookin to do a complete restore with some slight modification (will post some pics once I figure out how). She is exactely 16' long and approx 5'9" wide at its widest point. It has a 50hp Johnson on it, I have been told it is a fisherman and also a jupiter so still dont really know what I have. Regardless its what i got and so I'll make it work. Some of plans include removing the plate that covers the front and installing a casting deck. I also plan on removing and replacing the rotton floor, adding floatation foam, and recarpting just to name a few. I have been lurking around the site for the past few days and have already learned alot. This site seems to have a lot of good info and a lot of good members, to help me through the rebuild.

Outstanding! Welcome to iboats!

Another Starcraft person. LOL there are a bunch of us here! I have a 1966 that I recently picked up and look through the resto threads and you will see alot.

Right now mine is frozen in this great 3 degree VT weather and there is snow in mine. When the weather creeps up to near 35 it is only there for about an hour so nothing melts :(

I've always loved Starcrafts, mostly the aluminum ones though.
Thats a beauty.
Good luck you'll learn lots here in a short time.
A nice bunch of guys.

Thought I better join the other Starcraft guys in here and welcome you to the forum and wish you luck with your project. I have the same boat and rebuilt it 5 years ago.

Ezmobee,

I dont have any info on this boat as there is no capacity plate. Do you know what the max HP and weight is for this vessel? I used the formula provided by the coast guard and came up with about 750lbs but I thought I saw an old brocure that said max weight was around 1000lbs (couldnt read the max hp).

Any help is appreciated, also what model is this? Jupiter? Dolphin?

looks awesome.....depending what you want to do with it the 50hp sould be fine. it will get you on plane and to where you want to go...and for the cost of gas i would stick with it.
