I have made 2 bench seats for my 12' fiberglass trihull. I used red oak which I later learned was a no no but anyways they have been coated with epoxy resin and 4oz cloth. They almost look transparent like the cloth is not there. I realize epoxy does not protect against UV so should I go natural and coat with helmsman spar indoor/outdoor urethane or paint them with the rest of the boat, which would be more protected in the long run?

I'd go with the paint. Haven't heard of people putting the spar on epoxy. But wait, and you'll get more opinions....
