Can anyone tell me how to get more trim angle from a 1995 90hp mercury outboard? The motor tilts fine, but when under power and cruising it will only trim up so far. It does not leak down any, and Mercury emailed me saying it was a safety item so the motor can't be trimmed too far while under way. My 1986 Glasstream bass boat's transom is made with so much angle to it that with the motor at it's trim limit it is pretty much vertical/ straight up and down. I need to get it trimmed up more to get more speed. I have read some posts about a trim limit switch, but do not see one on this motor. Does the trim unit have an internal stopping point? At top speed and pressing the trim up switch the motor seems to cycle up slightly and down like it is hitting a limit and stopping. Don't really want to spend 500 bucks for a CMC jackplate/trim unit. This motor works fine (alot better than my 1970 Johnson 85 with no trim!!!) but just need a few more degrees of trim to make it perfect.....
