It's a Mercury Carb 150. Less than 10 hours on it, Leaking fuel from the bottom carb. When it is in gear a loud banging/pinging noise comes from the shaft. (When the motor is being flushed ofcourse) When the boat is in the water, the motor wont go above 3000 rpms. Tempeture gauge is always maxed out. No alarm goes off, I thought the gauge was wrong because the motor ran fine the first three times I used the boat. But now that the motor is broken, I bet the gauge was right. Everything is brand new, the motor is on a 21 foot open fisherman. The problem started all of a sudden, I was cruising at 4000 rpms, then the boat started loosing speed until it finally died. It wouldnt start for 1 hr. I waited 30 minutes more without trying to start it and it finally started on the first try after that. (I guess it was flooded) I barely made it back to the marina from 2000-3000 rpms WOT, if I would give it less gas it would shut off. Any Ideas? I know it has a warranty, my appointment to take it in to get fixed is next week. I just wanted a heads up. Thanks alot.
