Help cannot find year of motor or the right serial #

I'm new to Mercury, anyways this is an inline 6, says 115 on the cowl but not sure, looked on the medal plate mounted near the stern and this serial number I have matched none of the reference guides I have researched.

MERCURY - (115 H.P. (1985 ))
Serial No: 0A155177 Model No: 1115625

Another q?
I'm looming for a factory service shop manual, I have found some used on eBay but they are printed versions of my motor but printed late 80's early 90's.
Is it crucial to find one that was printed in the year my motor is or we're the inline 6 90/115 hp the exact same in late 80's and 90's?

The correct manual you need for your s//n is P/N 90-86134--4. Getting harder and harder to find on ebay.

Thank you and could you inform me how to you obtained the year of my engine? I tried looking on the maxrules.com web site and saw no year 115hp that started with my model or serial number.

Here is the one from the Maxrules site:

115 1985 EL 6630171 - A907776

You always discount the first 0 as it is just a computer number

I'm not understand something so I'm wondering do you convert my serial number from a guide? Or "word" like evinrude/Johnson does?
I just don't see how to reference my serial number to get the correct year.
What is the method?

Mercury is not like Johnson/Evinrude, there is nothing in the s/n to tell you what model or year it is:

Ok we'll what I'm saying is that # 0A155 I don't see anywhere on the graphs, not even for 1980's 115 hp, that's where I'm confused as to why I can't figure it out. If there are no special configurations or adding or subtracting than what am I missing?
I see that I have to look for my serial number in between a certain length of numbers but do not see any in 115 hp that start with my serial #

Post #2 is direct from Mercury and states that your engine is a 1985. Post #7 says the same thing, only it gives a s/n range and as your s/n falls within the range of 6630171 thru A907776 (engines manufactured in the 1985 year), it indicates that yours is indeed, a 1985 engine.

0A155177 is looked up as A155177. You drop the "0" off the front.

that's what Gerry has been saying.

I messaged the ebay user that is selling the manual I posted a link to yesterday and he says that manual is not for my motor but it has the P/N 90-86134--4 that gerry said I needed.
so im confused:
here's another manual with that same part number but its "printed date is 1991 not 1985 which is the year my motor is:

90-86134-4 is the number and it may have a later print date but it is still the same manual as it has no revision number change.
The next manual up for the 115 hp., 90-13645--2 begins at engine s/n 0A997142 thru 0D283221 and that is for the four cylinder 115s.

90-86134-4 covers the range of 4590512 and Above which goes right up to 0A997141.
