Help Choosing/Finding New Distributor

Hi, at the end of last year i started to have distributor problems on my boat, finished out the year and put her away. This season i wanted to start out right and replaced my old tired and worn prestolite distributor...its an 89 mercruiser 140 so i dont really need performance but not out of the question just need it to fit and work with my engine, breakerless would be nice too...any help would be greatly appreciated and would make my boating season alot nicer...thank you in advance for any help/suggestions.

Mercruiser went from the points distributor to the Delco EST in the early 90's and still using it today. Lots of information on them in the Merc service manuals. Here is one place to get them http://www.michiganmotorz.com/delco-voyager-marine-electronic-distributor-p-120.html

i just want to say thank you so much for the info..i purchased the distrib. from them and its is awsome bes my boat has ran since ive had it..i do how ever have one more question...my timing cover is leaking like one would expect, but i want to replace it with a new one but can not seem to find who sells them?

Merc dealers sell them, part# -59341A1. Try some of the aftermarket people, like Summit Racing, they might do them too.
