Guys,

I really need your help, i am trying to re-build and now identify if i have the correct carb for a new too me 89 Evinrude 110HP.The Numbers stamped on the carb body are 334329-DN. The mouth of the carb is 1 5/16 which i though these motors had a 1 3/16 opening, anyhow i just ordered parts for what i thought was the right carb and i beleive the carb that is on my motor. It may be for a v6 correct?

Does anyone know if it will hurt my motor to bolt these carbs up? Will it run smooth? Will i have to buy new carbs?

Thanks in Advance

Apparently through research it looks like the numbers stamped on the carb don't mean anything so I hope I ordered the correct jets. The carb bowl even has a different number stamped than the carb body

Zarillus, below is a link to a PDF version of your OEM service manual for your motor. On page 4-16 it identifies which carb you should have on your engine:

Boatinfo - 1973-1991 Evinrude Service manual

You have or should have a type 3 Carb on it. It should have 3 adjustments. One for high speed, one for medium and one for low. There are two kinds of type 3 carb. One version has a high and low adjustment and the other has high, medium and low. Yours is the one with the high, medium and low on it.

Hope that helped.

Re: Help Identfying Correct Carb for my Rude

The 110 hp engines all had the larger 1 5/16" carbs. The 1 3/16 may have been used on the 90 hp models. If it fits on your engine, it's correct for a V4 engine. The V6 carbs look identical, but they won't work on a V4. The carb butterfly shafts are a different length between the V4 and V6, causing linkage mismatches. So, if the carbs fit and work, likely they are correct for your model. The carb part numbers are probably a casting part number which have no use for us consumers. The only thing to verify is that the jet sizes in your carb match the factory parts list sizes. High, mid, low speed jets- vary by carb, year and hp. That parts list website listed above by Zarillus should get you where you want to go, or this one: epc.brp.com

Guys thanks so much !! This has been a tremendous help! I do have the 1 5/16 carbs i will now try to identify the jets to be sure i have the correct ones in there. Thanks so much for that manual tazrig, that really helped me identify parts associated. emdsapmgr-something interesting when dissembling there were no jets installed behind the bowl drain plugs however i have now ordered the jets hopefully the correct ones for the metal bowl that is installed.

The jets behind the bowl drain plugs are the largest jets-the high speed ones. If they are missing, likely the engine would not run, as it will overfuel.
