Interestingly, in the poll, the only 4 people to vote that the boat is worth less than $7500 were cadets and seaman.....hahaha.. newbies :p

maybe so but we're all capable of turning on the evening news and seeing the state of the world's economy. things like boats are gonna sit, and sit, and sit.... credit is tight (non-existent) so you are probably going to need a cash buyer. you may not be a desperate seller but many sellers are so they will greatly affect the value of your boat. and it's not going to get better anytime soon...

Re: Help me Value this Boat

I currently own 5 boats and have been a boater for over 50 years. But yet, I'm only an apprentice on this site. All that means is that I don't post a lot...LOL

I recently came across a "mint condition" fishing runabout with 75 HP outboard - all tricked out and CUSTOMIZED - fully equipped with EVERYTHING and custom set up to boot. I know a lot about it because i was the original owner. Now, granted, its a 1971 model (Engine upgraded in 1978) but the boat is absolutely pristine. The guy I sold it to kept it in his garage for the past 25 years, maintained it meticulously and only used it twice a year. The hour meter shows 300 hours - it had 200 on when i sold it in 1984.

So, bottom line, he wants $1800 and it has been for sale all summer!!! Granted, its old, but OMG what a steal and nobody wants it.

Hope you do well. Like everybody else says, wait till spring.

dang, you must be nearly old as JB:)

I think you are right, I will wait for spring.

I really enjoyed hearing about your boat that sat well maintained for so long....maybe YOU should buy it back.

Out of curiosity what price did you get for it when you sold it to him?
