Help needed with year of Yamaha 85.

Hi<br />A friend has asked me to service his Yamaha 85 for him, but I need to know the year of the motor to get the parts. I've asked him to look for the serial/model number and he's come up with these,<br /><br />S114263<br /><br />9L-1785<br /><br />Do these mean anything to anyone?<br /><br />If neither of these numbers is the correct number, where on his engine can he find the serial or model number?<br /><br />Thanks<br />Steve

S114263 should be the serial number and the model number should be on the same plate attached to the clamp bracket.
