HELP - no electrical!

I have a 2000 Crowline 202BR. Drive setup is an I/O with a Mercruiser 5.0L engine and Alpha outdrive. I am in a situation where I have no electrical anywhere except for the trim. What started it all was that there was a loose wire on the alternator. While trying to put it back where it was supposed to go, with the engine running, the wire touched something it shouldn't have. Instantly, everything electrical in the boat shutdown and has no power. The exception is the trim, which has its own lead off the battery. I replaced the 50 amp circuit breaker thinking that it blew and perhaps couldn't be reset anymore, but still, I have no power anywhere. Is there another main fuse I am missing?

Sorry, please forgive me - I realized this is in the wrong forum. I have moved it over there.

Don't know what the rest of the people are going to say about your delima, but shutting off the engine while working on electrical stuff is usually a good idea.

A voltmeter and wiring diagram for you boat should help you figure out where the problem is.
