I have searched to no avail, so am begging for help.
I have painted my Merc cowl/top/etc TWICE. First time I sanded to bare metal, used self-etching primer, sanded, and painted (I think with Duplicolor rattle cans). Came out very orange peely - tried to sand it down but it just didn't look right so I did it over. Same result.
Rather than bankrupt myself in rattle cans, can I shoot over everything as-is with clearcoat and then work on sanding/polishing that coat to a shine?
Appreciate any advice.
Dave
