procraftmark
Your new controlbox is probably $230,plus $65 for new cables.Procraft is a nice boat, but getting to the controlbox, and getting it out is difficult. Also the box has a new wiring harness that has to be fed thru the boat to the engine.
That leaves about $200 for labor, less than 3 hours at $70 per.
I think this is reasonable, considering the throttle is 'affected' in reverse as well. Hate to think of your engine stuck in gear...WOT.Hope the key shuts her down.
DHP

You could put a gas peddle (hotfoot)on it and sovle all your problems for less than a c-note. They are safer imho cause if you get bucked from your seat they return to idle, and you can change throttle position with both hands on the wheel. No replacment for a kill switch but safer than a lever.

Your engine has 2 cables from the control box, one is throttle and warm up, the other is shift. Everything about the throttle is controlled by the hotfoot. Your box will now only have one cable. Your control box is only used to select foward, neutral, or reverse. If you want fast idle you just push the gas petal while in neutral. On that warm up lever, the only time I ever need one is when I have flooded the motor by leaving the kill switch off on accident and there are other ways to clear a flooded motor. If you need that warm up on a consistant bases you may have a few more problems as well. Unless you are having serious shift problems a hotfoot will sovle your problems though. And if you are having shift problems maybe getting the throttle stuff out of the box will cure them as well.
