Hello,
I have a 1994 Mercury XR4 outboard Serial#OB276344 that is stuck down. I finally got the bunks raised on the trailer, and extra shims, just to get it out of the water at midnight last night.

The Hydraulic Manual Valve screw head was broken off. I tried to dill it carefully but no luck and today I see why. I wondered last night if it was a bypass type screw and it appears to be.

Can someone suggest what part number I need and possible where to buy it?

Then I need to solve the motor problem. You can hear the hydraulics working going down but nothing when the up button is pressed.

Ideas/thoughts/suggestions?
Thank you.

That PTT unit should have a 2 wire PTT motor. Try feeding +12VDC to the blue wire and ground the green wire. That should make the motor trim up. If so, inspect the PTT up relay for proper function.

Thank you.

I wish I had known about bypassing the solenoids before I drilled out the relief valve. ugg!

I have learned a valuable lesson for sure.

I have purchased 2 new solenoids and that has fixed that problem. I now have to get the remainder of the nylon valve screw out and nothing seems to work. I have tried, very carefully, to use an easy-out without success. The dang thang is just stuck. Does anyone have any ideas to get out a broken Hydraulic Manual Valve screw? .......

Thank you.
