Well, I prefer a regular simple carburetor on my lawn mower's and chain saws, fuel injection in my cars and I have no clue what you are asking without further information.

Depends on the engine, its use and environment, if you are maintaining it yourself or having it serviced by a pro, and your pocketbook.

That's your preference. I had an MPI motor that every time an alarm went off I had to take it to the dealer so they could read the code and charge me a fee. But fuel injection typically uses less gas. I prefer a carb motor as I have been working on those all my life, it may use more gas but no dealer fees.

I can't do my own work anymore, so I like F.I. The single most common 'theme' I've heard in my boat shopping (I've done a lot of that in the past few years), is that whatever carbed boat I've looked at 'just needs a carb rebuild or adjustment.'

If you know your way around a carb you can maintain it yourself, but if dependent on a mechanic I'd choose F.I. Modern systems are very reliable.

There is a reason that car engines no longer have carbureters. Fuel injection results in increased efficiency, power and reliability.

If I was buying a newer boat, I'd insist on fuel injection. For an older boat, the potential for higher repair costs might give me pause, but I'd still prolly lean towards FI if it was an option.

The other thing at least for me was not having to worry about altitude tuning with e MPI motor. Carbed motors have to be tuned for altitude...not to mention better fuel burn.
