Help Re-Wiring Evinrude 88 SPL

You got me as to why he upgraded to the new style control. Doesn't make much sense to anyone who has seen it either. The big red plug from the motor feeds a bundle forward to the console which sends two stands up and connecting to the controller but I'm left at the console with these dead ends and guess I'm wondering if anyone knows where they're supposed to end up?

This is at the controls where the two bundles attach along with the steering cables.

But I'm left with these at the console. Not sure if I need to buy an Evinrude specific instrument gauges to plug and play or if I can clip wires from the connectors and reuse some old Teleflex gauges I have? At least I can find the wiring diagrams for those still!

That ain't a upgrade. That's a fupgrade. Get a control box/wiring harness that fits. Without adaptation ..

Well, my philosophy is The Big Red Plug can only do so much. It has just so many connectors ...
