I have a 1992 Volvo penta DP outdrive with leaking hydraulic trim cylinders. I cannot remove the pins that hold the cylinders on the transom shield. I have tried the special tool that you fill with grease and hit with a hammer with no luck. I'm trying to do this without removing the engine or drive. Any suggestions? Volvo does not sell a rebuilding kit for these cylinders but other people say that it can be done by matching up the parts at a hydraulic shop. If this is true can I disassemble cylinders without removing the half that is attached to the transom plate?

Did you remove the lock bolts that hold the pin in? (Inside the boat)

When they get corroded in there, I normally have to pull the engine and transom shield out so you can use heat (oxy/act torch) and a slide hammer to get them loose.
