I'm removing a digital tach and harness from a boat with a 2006 Yamaha 90TLRL. I can't find a part number on the gauge so I took a picture; see number one below. It has three dips swithes, four individual wires (blk, grn, blue, ylw) and one square four wire connector (pink, gry, grn/wht, grn/red). I would like to use the wiring harness that came with the tach.

I want to put the tach and wiring harness on a 2006 Yamaha F200TXR HPDI but I'm not sure how to connect it at the motor end. On my motor there is one square four wire connector with all pink wires with various stripe colors that is unused; see picture number two below. Do I connect directly to that?

The third picture is of the wiring harness that I hope to use. It currently goes from tach to 90TLRL.

I have changed the dip switch to four stroke and have it on 12 pole. Can I use this tach and harness with the F200? Do I need any special adapters?

Thanks for any help in advance. Bryan

Re: Help rigging digital tach on F200TXR

post the complete model number of both engines.
ya cant have a US market 06 90 with 4 alpha charaters and ya cannot have an F200 HPDI.
05 was the last year that an alpha character designated a model year production run for US market motors.

do a forum search using dip switch settings as a keyword. right now I dont have the switch settings here at home. but the only difference will be two or 4 stroke select.
both engines are 12 pole and 2 wire trim sender.

depends on if you have the late sryle trim harness or the old style with 2 square connectors at both ends. old style trim harness will require an adapter.
