Was out last weekend. Motor still runs great so I have not posted in a while. Something went out of adjustment with one of the linkages or the shift lever that controls forward/neutral/reverse and the "governing" of the motor.

What is happening is this. Link and sync looks fine. But when you move the shift lever to forward, there is a lever inside the motor that regulates how far the cam and cam roller will go. The lever serves as a "stopper" to the cam plate under the flywheel which has stepped notches. The stop lever on the shift lever looks to be going too far out and not "stopping" the cam plate. The cam roller then rolls off the end of the cam plate at full throttle and kills the motor.

There is a spring on the lever and looks to have good tension but I do not know if there is any other way to adjust this. I have another QD20 and a QD21 and have looked at both as their linkage and stopper works fine for this. It is something with that lever and I cannot figure it out. As noted runs fine but have to be very careful when approaching full throttle so as not to roll off the cam plate and kill it. Anyone have knowledge on fix/adjustment on this? Thanks.

A couple of things come to mind
1. The vertical shifter interlock bar may be bent, or the center hole and pivot bolt are worn out
2. The shift shaft---the shaft that the shift handle is attached to--is bent. This is the most likely cause. My money is on this one.
