I’m old but new to learning about outboards. When I was young I was a wader. Still believe there’s nothing better than wading, throwing a jig and seeing your line swim as you reel up the slack and set the hook on a beautiful smallie! But now I’m old with arthritic knees. Can’t do that anymore. Bought a bass project boat. Fixed it up and sent it to college with my son. Now I’m working on a runabout restoration. Part of that is bringing a 1968 Johnson 33 electric back to life. I’m looking for help on identifying parts and general advice on how to take it apart and put it back together. I have $100 into it. I bought it for the purpose of learning about outboards so honestly if I somehow ruined it it’s not the end of the world. But if I could get it running smoothly it would make a great time appropriate addition to my 1967 runabout. So I’m going to start with one simple question. Is this the fuel pump and if so how does it work with only one line coming to it? Wouldn’t it have to have a line in and a line out? If it is not the fuel pump what is it? Thanks! If this goes well I will ask questions one at a time! I also have a service manual on order. Should be here within two weeks. But for now...
