I recently was given a 1993 70 hp .The trim does not work because there is a hole in the port side trim tube. I cant see the hole well because it is on the left side of the tube and there is only about an inch between the tube and the rest of the assembly. I dont know if there was a screw or plug there that fell out or if it is just actually a hole. I cant feel in enough to see if there are threads in there. Anyway I was hoping you guys might have a solution for me. I was thinking maybe jb weld or try to tap it and put in a small bolt with a gasket or weld or maybe you know where I can find a used trim unit. The motor does work it just pours the fluid ou the hole. Thank you

Someone may jump in who knows that motor. In any case I suggest that you get the OMC shop manual. It will give you both diagrams, pictures for this and anything else that comes up.

It might be where the sending unit for the trim gauge was. At least on my '77 model it is.

You either need to post a pic are give a better detailer description. "Port side tilt tube" does nothing for me. If you are talking about a hydraulic line then there will be nothing threaded into it, its just a hole and needs replacing.<br />If you are talking about the hydraulic cylinder then maybe. Never heard of one developing a hole.
