Hello all I am new to this forum i am huge fan of forum and on the Sea Ray forum. So this may get long winded I will try keep it short but looking for advice.

have a 2001 Sea Ray 190BR with 5.0 EFI merc and alpha 1 leg. I have been having issues with the boat bogging no power on water it starts and idles fine but when I put hammer down it just Bogs. So far this week I have found a jelly like stuff in the fuel so in emptied the fuel tank cleaned it out it is very clean inside put on new fuel filter went out tried boat yesterday and it is almost worse it will start and idle fine but I could not get on plane topped out at 2200rpm when I just use the throttle it will rev right up sounds good to 5000rpm. I manage to get on plane once yesterday topped out at 4000rpm and then after could not get it on plane again same 2200rpm tops very shutter/vibration feel from engine no power. So after this got home I put a gauge in-line from fuel pump to the TBI and when start it got 32psi steady when boat is running idle and revs. So from what I have found 28-32psi is normal for this pump. So I am not sure now what to do or check. I looked at the distributor cap and looks fine as in no moisture but I am tempted to change cap and rotor out as it has been 6yrs since that was done and do the spark plugs as I have never changed them for the whole 8yrs I have owned This boat. What’s your thoughts fellas.

found a jelly like stuff in the fuel

Should send the injectors off to a marine injector place for cleaning and flow testing. Have stated marine because an automotive place does not test normally to the same high rpm and flow, cars/trucks don't need that kind of flow

What ever you do do not buy injectors from ebay or amazon

I have a good spray from the 2 TBI on top when it is idling nice cone spray not sure if that helps. So the 32psi for fuel pump pressure is good right normal?

Figuring without a serial number I would say yes 30psi is correct

Boat needs a lot more fuel under load. Your plugs show running rich, but that can happen while idling

Can also check timing advance, or if the ECM is getting a knock signal it will retard the timing

You may have a MEFI-3 and if so then it can also thro code 44 which is when it test the knock sensor. If it test and doesn't find it, it will retard timing some but not as much it if actually gets a knock, code 43.

Scan the motor for codes with a scanner, LED code reader or make one with a resistive LED and paper clip

Not all meters will work and some may draw more current. You can try it same as the guy on youtube, but I'm not going to risk my $2K dollar ECM

IAT high tells the ECM the air is cold so it will supply more air when warmed up

With out more testing
J2-30 goes to IAT with Tan wire, should be 5V with ignition ON but also varies depending on temp

Also note that the MEFI-3 is a decent ECM but it has nothing to know if other things have issues, like fuel pressure, bad injector, timing, other

So changed cap and rotor and noticed that it will run good can tell a difference just on the ear muffs and then when it starts to run like **** I noticed that there is an arcing from the coil wire to the coil + wire.

Arching from the coil is either a crack in the coil or need new wires

All new spark plug wires or just a coil wire?

Depends on where its arching. If its making it thru the coil wire maybe just it, but that said, if its arching on that one the rest have the same age

Checked the coil got
Primary Resistance 1.0 Ohms
Secondary Resistance 10.86Ohms
Through coil wire with coil wire plugged into coil I have 18.45 Ohms

but when I was testing it I noticed the - wire was broke almost in half at the terminal on the coil so this would tell me the coil and coil wire is good and the sparking could have been from that wire half broke?? Am I in right track?
