Help with buying a boat

I'm from texas and going in the morning to buy a boat in OK from a guy. Was just told that to transfer titles you have to have the seller fill out some form. I always thought you just signed the title and then took it in did the paper work and went from there.

Anyone know if I have to do this,what exactly the form is, and if i can download it from somewhere? Thanks in advance.

I can't speak specifically to OK title transferring into TX:

However I did bring back a non-titled boat w/ I/O, and trailer from CA with a Bill of Sale and that was all TPWD wanted.

I would get the best documentation you can from the seller according to OK laws, minimum a Bill of Sale specifying seller and buyer info, Hull Numbers, Trailer Tag/ License Plate, the OK Registration Numbers, etc. Document everything.

Texas wants the HIN of the Hull, the Serial Number for the Engine/outdrive, and trailer is done by TDPS.

Get a copy if the Drivers License if you can do the final deal at a Kinkos or something, get the boat hopefully from the sellers residence (on DL).

Trust your gut, if it feels "FuNnY", walk away
