Help with installing a new water pump kit

I am putting in a new water pump kit on<br />my 1978-1980 Mercury 20 hp. But the new <br />kit has 1 fiber washer and 2 rubber washers <br />that I did not see when I took the old<br />one apart. and they are all too small to <br />fit on the shaft. I do not see anywhere<br />that they might go. Can anyone tell me <br />where they are to go. The manual I am <br />using does not them in the book.<br />The kit is from Sierra Part # 18-3448

budds; If the washers are thick (in length)could be for the water tube might be the GROMMET.

they usually come with extra parts, extra washers and gaskets and such, cause each kit fits a variety of engines..... use the manual, you DO have A MANUAL, and replace what it says to.<br /><br />i did a merc 115hp and i have all kinds of stuff extra.......
