Yours is a 1981-82 Commercial 6hp. Evinrude and Johnson were identical for this engine, so I wouldn't be concerned about the discrepancy.
However, that's all the information I have for you. It's tough to get info on the Commercial models. Do you have a photo of it you could share with us? It might help identify what model it's similar to. I wouldn't take a guess, since the commercial engines sometimes were reversions to older models or derated versions of larger outboards.
A photo would definitely help. BTW, the site in the link is probably the most complete listing of OMC engine models, regardless of their origins or usages. It lists Commercial and Military models, along with the typical engines.
Interestingly, they also made a 6hp commercial model that ran on kerosene for those two years. The model is 6KCH, with an E or J in front to indicate brand. Now...I'd love to see one of those.
