Help with model year, 90hp mercury

Hello, I have searched the web for hours trying to find a site to verify my model year and I am frustrated. Can you help/<br /><br />I am purchasing a mercury tracker 90hp serial number 06272901. I am told it is a 1995 and I want to verify this.<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />If there is a web site that you know for later models I would greatly appreciate the web address.<br /><br />Thanks again

That's a 3 cylinder 90HP motor?<br /><br />I think that 6 may be a "G" , which would make sense for a 1995.<br /><br />OG272901

Agree, if Mariner numbers are like Merc's. My Merc '02 is in the 500,000's and as I recall there is a prefix letter.....may be a G. So if your prefix is G that would put you at 272,901. Don't know if Merc and Mariner use the same numbering sequence. Probably not. Maybe they come in blocks; like Merc gets 1 to 99,999 and Mariner gets 100,000 to 199,999 and so on. Or maybe there is no correlation at all.<br /><br />Mark

In this instance, that motor should be a genuine Mercury with a " Tracker by Mercury Marine Decal " on it. Similar to this, but an older motor:<br /><br />1995 started with s/n G127600<br />1996 started with s/n G301751<br /><br />
