Help with model year evinrude 55 "heavy duty"

MOD.No = BE55RSY
SER.No = G 02641582

This is an engine form the norwegian military so its a type of "heavy duty" 55hp. Came original with 70hp lower unit, short shaft, rope start, no power tilt/trim

I see a lot of 55RSY* models, the * being another letter. Could the "G" belong with the model number? 55RSYG is a 1995

Belgium Model, Evinrude, 55hp, rope start commercial model 22.5inch shaft. the * means its a 2 stroke and the year is undetermided because you are missing the last letters on the end. You can use this little setup to determine year...

The mystery remains. At any rate, the INTRODUCES doesn't work on that motor. Here is where I got my information. It is in the Commercial outboards section.

look around on the powerhead, there should be a soft plug with the model/serial stamped into it also, i ran the serial on Evinrudes Dealport dealer only section and it says its not found, wondering if the one on the powerhead reads different.

It said G 2641582, so yes its a match!
