help with my 85 hp merc not running well
iam a new boat owner i have a 85hp mercury 1975 model it runs here at the house pretty fair with the uffs on it. goes in gears revs up and all.. heres the question on the bottom of the motor it looks as if there should be a sheild r bottom peice to the motor to not let water fly up in the carb i seen water going in the carb this is probllay why it wont go in gear and run in the water? i needa website for older mercs and where i can get a manual does any one have a pic of there motor i can take a ppic of mine what iam talking about
