Help with OMC Part# 986955

I am getting ready to put in a new shift cable for my 5.7 OMC and am studying the hastings site http://www.hastings.org/~stuart/cobra/kw-shift.html and I have determined that I have a KW-AR model.

According to the site I should be looking for part# 986955 which will upgrade me to a GD-RG style but I cant find that part. I searched i-boats parts, and googled the part # but cant find it.

My shift lever looks like pic 18 here http://www.hastings.org/~stuart/cobra/sb4052_5.jpg

Maybe someone can point me to the correct upgrade kit?

It looks like the new number is 987622 per the BRP site but if you have your engine information when ordering they should get it right. It is a common item.

Thanks. Still having problems finding the part# you provided though. but will get as much information off of the engine to provide it to a retailer.

That raises another question I have a receipt where the PO had a rebuilt 5.7 put in 98 but it doesnt have a part#. My boat is a 26' Stamas Americana 1978. I've searched all over the engine and cant find anything to identify it other than it being a 5.7. Back on the outdrive there is a label but not on the motor.

What all do I need to identify my setup?
