You can add shims under the mounts as needed but this could be an indication of stringer rot.

Wood is an okay material but it will crush/sag over time. Better to use aluminum bar stock or a dense plastic material that will hold up better over time

OP found the rubber deteriorated on his front mounts in post #19

Also the replacement mounts I ordered are actually shorter, not as tall.
My bad engine mounts look like this:

The new mounts look like this, and aren't as tall:

You have fluid mounts, and you order the solid mount.
Fluid mount part number is -18098A3, but it's NLA from Merc. Some of the aftermarket shops might have something. or ebay.

Shouldn't OP have a balance shaft engine (didn't see a serial #)? Either way, mounts (and brackets, also a different p/n) are the same height.

Yep, wonder if this is why we ask for engine serial numbers?

The first number will be a 0, followed by a letter, then your 6 numbers.

Thanks everyone!
Vibration was resolved with replacement forward engine mounts, and I was in dire need of a new cap and spark plug wires.

On my test drive I lost power steering fluid. I took the pulley off the power steering pump in an attempt to save the pump for the ride back to the boat launch. I suspect the heat exchanger for the power steering fluid is the culprit, since the bilge is clean.

Chris, it looks like you've already been dealt with engine mounts from a previous thread. The mounts I bought maybe not be tall enough... Am I screwed? I've put them in... They may not be tall enough for me to align the engine. Maybe I can put a pressure treated 1-by between them and the boat?
Use aluminum plate for shim with holes drilled through.
