Help with year identification.

Hi my name is John. This is a wonderful site. I will be doing a lot of reading here! I have been reading for a while on identification but I can't seem to figure out how to tell what year a motor is by serial and model #. This leads to my question: What year is this motor? It's a 6 hp Evinrude. The serial # is J0003076, and the model # is 6504R. Thank you for your time, John.

6504R = 1975 6hp Evinrude

ihave an old evinrude the only # on it is 10027-12986 any help would be appreciated

If you've misread the number, 10022 is a 1961 10hp Evinrude.
