HELP!! Yamaha 9.9HP Valve Clearance specifications

Hi,
I'm wondering if someone kind enough could post both the intake and exhaust valve specifications / clearance adjustments for the following engine:

2003 Yamaha 9.9HP Four Stroke (high thrust)

The engine was running fine, I called a dealer and they gave me the spec for the adjustment which I set using a feeler gauge. After that it sputters but won't stay running as if the adjustment spec was incorrect. Sounds like its either too tight or too loose.

i have a couple of different manuals

can you give me the full serial number.

It looks like they should be set COOL to the touch to

Intake 0.15 to 0.20 mm (0.0059 to 0.0079 in.)

Exhaust 0.20 to 0.25 mm (0.0079 to 0.0098 in.)

I need the full serial number to be sure.

Thank you very much for replying and taking the time to look this up!!!

That's the correct specifications, right on! Looking for the serial number I stumbled upon a sticker (factory) on the front left side of the motor in super small font that specified the valve backlash / specs and it matched yours... My honda's don't have stickers like this, have the manual for those.... so never really inspected the motor and all its small font stickers.

I I still can't find the serial number on the darn thing. Where do they keep it, very curious for future reference....

Again I greatly appreciate your help, wouldn't have come across the sticker not have the right spec on this without your input and its here now for others to reference.

Look at the clamping/mounting bracket on the port side, there should be a plate there somewhere with the model and serial number.

I beleave that sticker is on all of them or most anyway.
